Carbon Offset

The NSE—Solar For All system supplies solar-generated electricity to our utility in order for it to meet the District’s renewable energy goals. Currently, the system is estimated to produce more than 750,000 kWh in the first year.

Check out our production data and see that clean energy grow

The production of this system is the equivalent of cutting 595 tons of carbon dioxide in our air per year. Check out what that sort of production means for our environment!

The estimated carbon offset of this project is equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions from:

passenger vehicles driven for one year

miles driven by an average passenger vehicle

Or the CO2 emissions from:

homes’ electricity use for one year

barrels of oil consumed

railcars’ worth of coal burned

homes’ energy use for one year

%

coal-fired power plants in one year

tanker trucks worth of gasoline

pounds of coal burned

gallons of diesel consumed

propane cylinders used for home barbeques

smartphones charged

gallons of gasoline consumed

Or the greenhouse gas emissions avoided by:

tons of waste recycled instead of landfilled

garbage trucks of waste recycled instead of landfilled

wind turbines running for a year

trash bags of waste recycled instead of landfilled

incandescent lamps switched to LED’s

Or the carbon sequestered by:

tree seedlings grown for 10 years

acres of U.S. forests in one year

acres of U.S. forests preserved from conversion to cropland in one year
